Bandipora residents protest against IIOJK authorities’ disregard to address their plight

Srinagar: People staged a silent protest in Hajin town of Bandipora district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the authorities’ inaction in addressing their water crisis.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters of Mir Mohalla in Hajin town, largely comprising women, highlighted the struggles they face in accessing portable drinking water.

The demonstrators expressed frustration over the lack of safe drinking water, particularly during critical times, forcing them to travel long distances to meet their daily needs.

They said that for many days the residents have been enduring dry taps, compelling them to rely on distant and polluted sources, including irrigation canals, increasing concerns about waterborne diseases.

The protesters emphasized that the absence of adequate drinking water has caused immense hardship, urging the authorities to address their plight.
