Hindutva men hoist saffron, Israeli flags on mosque in Bihar’s Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur: A Hindutva group hoisted a saffron flag and an Israeli flag on a mosque during a religious procession in Bhagalpur city of Bihar India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place during the Kali Visarjan Yatra near Tamtam Chowk, under the Lalmatia Police Station.

The event, which was captured in a video that quickly spread online, has caused concern for communal peace in the area.

In the video, members of the Hindutva group can be seen waving an Israeli flag and placing a saffron flag on the mosque’s dome, while others cheered.

Songs with derogatory remarks against the Muslim community were also shared along with the video on social media.

Police officials said, ‘they cleared the area and deployed additional forces, including units from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), to secure the locality’.

The incident has sparked anger within the Muslim community and raised concerns among social activists, who stress that such acts could disrupt communal harmony.
