Former IOJK Deputy CM appointed Ladakh LG

Srinagar: The President of India on Monday appointed senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of occupied Jammu and Kashmir Kavinder Gupta as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kavinder Gupta earlier served as Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and later as Deputy Chief Minister during the PDP-BJP coalition government in 2018.

The appointment comes following the resignation of Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. The President has formally accepted his resignation.
