APHC-AJK remembers leaders on their death anniversaries

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a condolence reference in Islamabad, today, to pay glowing tributes to Hurriyat leaders Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, Dr Abdul Aala, and Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam on their death anniversaries.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK former Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, presided over the meeting.

The speakers on the occasion said that Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Dr Abdul Aala, and Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam began their political journey with the organizations Al-Fatah and Jamait Tulba Jammu Kashmir and, as their members, endured the hardships of imprisonment. They noted that these leaders were committed, worked tirelessly to further the Kashmir cause, and ultimately laid down their lives for the sacred mission.

The speakers paid homage to the Kashmiri leaders and said that they had always stressed the importance of a united front, which remains the need of the hour. They pointed out that India is killing innocent Kashmiris to force them into abandoning their legitimate struggle. The only way to thwart the enemy’s nefarious designs is through unity and consensus, they added.

At the end of the meeting, prayers were offered for the martyrs of Kashmir, and a renewed pledge was made to continue the liberation movement till its complete success.

Among those who attended the event included Maqsood Jafri, Barrister Altaf Hussain, Abdullah Khan, Muhammad Hanif Malik, Zafar Malik, Dr Manwar Hussain and senior Hurriyat leaders.

Meanwhile, former APHC-AJK Convener Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement paid rich tributes to the political struggle and sacrifices of late Mushtaq Wani, Dr Abdul Aala, and Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam for their significant role in the ongoing freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir against India’s forcible and illegal occupation.
