Islamabad imambargah blast: Bomber’s Afghanistan training, multiple visits revealed

Islamabad: The identity of the suicide bomber involved in the deadly attack on an imambargah in Islamabad has been established.

According to Kashmir Media Service, confirmed government sources said that the attacker had received training in terrorist activities in Afghanistan. The suicide bomber had travelled to Afghanistan multiple times and had returned from there shortly before carrying out the attack.

Sources said that various terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan under the patronage of the Taliban regime pose a serious threat to the security of the entire region. “Behind every terrorist operation in Pakistan is a nexus between Afghanistan and India,” they added.

The entire nation stands united like a solid wall against such nefarious and cowardly acts. Attacks on mosques, imambargahs and innocent civilians cannot weaken the resolve of the Pakistani people.

It is pertinent to mention that the the suicide blast at Imambargah Khadijah al-Kubra in the Tarlai area of Islamabad claimed at least 31 lives and left 169 others injured.
