12-year-old girl found dead near her house in Budgam

Incident extremely heartbreaking, responsible should be punished severely: Mirwaiz

Srinagar: A 12-year-old girl was found dead near her house in Budgam district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir today, which has triggered a wave of grief and anger in the area.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the minor girl went missing on Saturday evening. This heartbreaking incident took place in the Galwanpura area of the district. Today, her body was found about 200 meters from her house.

Budgam Senior Superintendent of Police Hari Prasad K said that initially this case seems to be a case of rape and murder. When the girl’s body was found, there was a lot of grief in the area and people were shocked. It is being told that the girl had left home for school but did not return.

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement termed the incident as extremely heartbreaking and disturbing and wrote on the X, “This is extremely painful and has shaken the conscience of every human being, our children do not feel safe even on the way to school.” Mirwaiz demanded a complete and transparent investigation and said that those responsible for this heinous act should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti also expressed deep shock and sorrow over the brutal murder of the girl. She wrote on the X, “I was deeply shocked to hear about the brutal murder of a 12-year-old girl in Budgam. The rape allegations have made it more shocking and disturbing.”

Mehbooba Mufti expressed hope that the culprits will be brought to justice at the earliest.
