Mother, three children died after house collapses due to landslide in Reasi
Jammu: Four individuals, including three children, tragically lost their lives when a landslide struck their house in the Chassana area of Reasi district in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, an official said that a family of four was buried alive as a massive landslide hit their Kacha dwelling in Kunderdhan Chassana due to incessant rainfall. The victims were asleep when the landslide occurred on Sunday night.
“The mother and her three children died in the landslide, while two others sustained injuries,” the official said.
“Phalla Akther, wife of Mohd Farid, 30 years old, Nasima Akther, daughter of Mohd Farid, 5 years old, Safeen Kousar, daughter of Mohd Farid, 3 years old, and Samreen Kousar, daughter of Mohd Farid, 2 months old, died on the spot. Two individuals, namely Kalu, son of Juma, approximately 60 years old, and Bano Begum, wife of Kalu, 58 years old, sustained injuries,” the official said.
He added that all the bodies have been recovered by rescue teams.
