APHC grieved over loss of lives in Srinagar boat capsizing incident
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference has expressed deep grief and sorrow over loss of lives in the tragic boat capsizing incident in Srinagar city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, six persons including five school going children lost their lives and three others are still missing after the boat they were boarded in capsized at Gandbal in Batwara area of Srinagar on Tuesday.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the bereaved families. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the losses with fortitude.
The spokesman urged the people to unite in showing support and solidarity with the victim families, offering assistance and comfort to them in this hour of extreme grief. He also called for a thorough inquiry to ascertain the facts causing the fatal accident.
He said that the tragic accident happened due to the non-completion of the footbridge under construction for the last 15 years which speaks volumes of the occupation authorities’ indifference towards the basic needs of the general public.
Meanwhile, the Grand Mufti of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasirul Islam, expressed his profound sorrow grief over the loss of precious lives, including many children, in the tragic incident. Expressing his condolences to the grieving families, he underscored the need of showing unwavering solidarity with them.
APHC leader Yasmeen Raja and APHC-AJK convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in their statements also expressed deep shock and anguish over this heart-wrenching incident and said that this tragedy happened due to the criminal negligence of the Indian occupation regime. Yasmeen Raja also visited the victim families and condoled with them.
