Srinagar: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, in Pakistan and all over the world will observe Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, tomorrow, the 5th August, to register their protest against Hindutva Indian BJP government’s illegal action taken on that day in 2019.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian government led by Bharatiya Janata Party, in gross violation of the United Nations resolutions and international law, scrapped Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that granted special status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and imposed an unprecedented military siege in the territory on 5th August 2019.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference jailed leadership, Massarat Alam Butt and Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe Black Day on 5th August (tomorrow) to convey a strong message to the world that the Kashmiris do not accept India’s brutal anti-Kashmir acts and violation of international law over dispute territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Illegally detained APHC leaders in their separate messages from jails, said August 5, 2019 is one of the blackest days in IIOJK.
They said the five years constant military and police siege and continued atrocities and violation of human rights have wreaked havoc in the entire territory, which has been turned into a torture chamber by the communal Hindutva New Delhi-controlled BJP regime.
APHC leaders Fayaz Hussain Jafari and Syed Sibte Shabbir Qumi in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that August 5 was a black day for Kashmiris, like every year Kashmiris will observe this day as “Youm-e-Istehsal” and will record their protest against the colonial move by observing it as Black Day.
They said the only purpose of the ongoing illegal Indian actions in the occupied territory is to turn the majority of Muslims into a minority.
APHC leader Farida Behanji in a statement in Srinagar termed August 5, 2019 as the darkest day in the history of Kashmir and added that the unilateral and illegal actions of India had destroyed Kashmir.
She said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir would continue their struggle till taking the freedom movement to its logical conclusion.
APHC-AJK leader Altaf Hussain Wani in a statement in Islamabad, urging Kashmiri masses to observe 5th August as exploitation day, said that the day marks the onset of India’s settler colonial project that seeks to control, by all means, Kashmir, its population and resources. He condemned the BJP government for its aggressive designs in the region, and said that the 5th August move was an atrocious assault on Kashmiris’ national identity.
Imtiaz Wani, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Aijaz Rehmani, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, Shameem Shawl, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Shaikh Yaqoob, Gulshan Ahmed, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Shaikh Adbul Majid, Manzoor Ahmad Dar and others said the unilateral actions of the Modi government on August 5 are an attack on the unique identity, culture, population and fundamental rights of Jammu and Kashmir.
They appealed to the freedom and peace-loving Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and all across the globe to observe August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsaal-e-Kashmir.
