Posters slam Modi, Army Chief for Kashmir remarks
APHC compares January massacres to Jallianwala Bagh carnage

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters have condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and puppet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for attempting to undermine Kashmir’s internationally recognized disputed status through misleading statements.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters appearing in Srinagar and adjoining areas emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognized dispute, with its political future to be decided through a United Nations-supervised plebiscite. The posters described the remarks as a calculated move to justify India’s illegal occupation. Labeling Omar Abdullah, IIOJK’s Chief Minister, as the BJP’s B-team, the posters criticized his silence on key issues such as the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A and the repeal of draconian laws, portraying him as a covert ally in oppressing Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, a report by Kashmir Media Service has exposed the brutality of Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with a focus on the month of January. The report sheds light on devastating massacres, including 1990’s Gaw Kadal and Handwara massacres,1993’s Sopore massacre and 1994’s Kupwara massacre, which claimed over 160 lives. Since January 1990, a staggering 49 massacres have resulted in the loss of 634 Kashmiri lives and billions of dollars in property damage. These atrocities, fueled by Hindutva forces, aim to intimidate Kashmiris, but have ultimately failed to dampen their spirit and resolve for freedom.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, compared these massacres to the infamous Jallianwala Bagh carnage under British rule. He paid tribute to the victims of January massacres and reaffirmed the Kashmiri people’s unwavering determination to achieve their legitimate right to self-determination. Minhas urged the international community to act against India’s ongoing genocide and human rights abuses in IIOJK.
Authorities have placed major shrines in Srinagar under CCTV surveillance. The locals denounced the move as an attempt to monitor religious activities and gatherings under the guise of security.
As the world is observing World Religion Day, today, minorities in India continue to face systemic violence, discrimination, and exclusion under Hindutva-driven policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime, exposing the grim reality of religious intolerance and growing Islamophobia in the country.
