Article 370 was designed to protect rights of IIOJK: Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has stated that Article 370 was introduced to safeguard local jobs and preserve the rights of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah, while speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar, emphasized the significance of Article 370 as a measure designed to protect the rights and identity of the people of IIOJK.
He also expressed his concern about the Waqf Amendment Bill, highlighting the spiritual and unalterable nature of Waqf properties. “Allah is the master. He alone will save the Waqf. Whatever they do with the Waqf, they will not be able to erase the name of Allah,” he remarked.
Dr. Abdullah also addressed the rising issue of drug addiction in the occupied territory, calling it a grave menace that has devastated Kashmiri society. “Drugs have destroyed our nation,” he remarked, expressing deep concern about the growing impact of the problem. He called for collective responsibility, urging Kashmiris to look inward and address the issue themselves.
