Thousands of farmers gather in Delhi, raise slogans against Modi govt’s policies
New Delhi: Thousands of farmers gathered at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Thursday to protest against the Modi government’s policies against the community.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest was organized by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of farmer organizations.
The farmers raised slogans against the BJP government. The SKM said a resolution will be passed at the event to “intensify the fight” against the government’s policies.
The protest comes as the government faces criticism over its handling of the farm sector. Farmers have been protesting for months, and the SKM has threatened to escalate the protests if their demands are not met.
The protest is expected to continue for several days.
