Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman Advocate Abdu Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Hurriyat Chairman Masarat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmeeda Sofi, and other leaders had been unjustly imprisoned in politically motivated cases.

He said that these Kashmiri detainees were being subjected to inhuman treatment and denied even basic medical and legal facilities by the jail authorities. He deplored that these prisoners continue to face persecution for raising voice for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

He maintained that by adopting the policy of oppression, India has not gained anything till date and will gain nothing in the future too and that the Kashmiris would continue their just struggle till taking it to its logical conclusion

He pointed out that India was on the verge of becoming a Hindu Rashtra and appealed to the people of Kashmir to get united against anti-Kashmir, anti-Islam forces and their agents to defeat their nefarious designs.

The APHC spokesman urged the world human rights organizations including the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and International Committee of Red Cross to take cognizance of the plight of the Kashmiri prisoners and play an effective role in their release.
