Congress slams BJP for igniting anti-Muslim violence in UP

New Delhi: Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has said that the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government is inciting anti-Muslim in the state, wherein at least three Muslims have been killed during a survey of a Mughal era mosque in Sambhal.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Khera in a statement said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the BJP-RSS orchestrated the unrest to polarize communities, undermining the state’s harmony. “Western Uttar Pradesh, a symbol of goodwill, has been turned into a battleground under the BJP’s divisive politics,” he said.

He criticized the government’s handling of the situation, questioning police inaction against provocative elements and accusing the administration of fueling communal discord. “The slogan ‘Ek Hai To Safe Hai’ stands exposed as a sham amid BJP’s systematic targeting of minorities,” Khera added.

Calling the violence part of a larger conspiracy, he urged the people of Sambhal to reject hatred and embrace unity. Khera reiterated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vision of fostering love over division, appealing for legal recourse to safeguard rights.

The Congress also demanded accountability from PM Modi and CM Adityanath, urging them to prioritize national harmony over political interests.
