APHC delegation meets President AJK, discusses IIOJK situation
Islamabad: A delegation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, met with the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, to discuss the current situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation, led by Convenor APHC AJK Ghulam Muhammad Sufi, met with Barrister Sultan at Kashmir House, Islamabad, today. Barrister Sultan assured the delegation that the people of Azad Kashmir stand firmly beside their brothers and sisters in IIOJK in their struggle for freedom.
He emphasized that the freedom movement would continue until IIOJK is liberated from India’s oppressive and illegal occupation.
He stated that all political parties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are united on the Kashmir dispute and expressed hope that the government of Pakistan and all its political parties would also unite on the Kashmir issue. He mentioned that he has made ‘Kashmir Studies’ a mandatory subject in all universities of AJK and called on students and youth to highlight the ongoing atrocities and brutality in occupied Jammu and Kashmir through social media.
Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry urged the international community to play its role in ending Indian atrocities in IIOJK and to help the Kashmiri people achieve their right to self-determination. He condemned India’s violations of human rights in occupied territory since August 5, 2019, which have made life unbearable for the Kashmiri people. He also noted that India is persecuting Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, and other minorities both in occupied Kashmir and within its own borders.
The AJK President stressed the need to raise voices globally against India’s oppression and violence. He confidently stated that the time is not far when India will fall apart and it will break into pieces.
Convenor Ghulam Muhammad Sufi praised the efforts of President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry in raising the Kashmir issue on international platforms. He stated that together, they will continue to advocate for the resolution of the Kashmir issue and the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination at every forum.
The Hurriyat delegation included Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Farooq Rehmani, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Shameem Shawl, Hassan Ul Bana, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Sheikh Yaqoob, Mian Muzaffar, and other leaders. President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry’s advisors, Chaudhry Naseer Ahmed and Sardar Imtiaz Khan, were also present during the meeting.
