BJP MLC’s uncle kidnapped in Pune, found murdered hours later
Pune : The uncle of Maharashtra BJP Member of Legislative Council, Yogesh Tilekar, Satish Wagh (55), was kidnapped and murdered by unidentified assailants in Pune district, a police official confirmed.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Wagh, who was out for a morning walk near Shewalwadi Chowk in Hadapsar, was forcibly abducted by four to five individuals on Monday. The kidnappers bundled him into an SUV, prompting the police to launch a manhunt to locate him. Later in the evening, his body was discovered near Yavat on the Pune-Solapur Highway, approximately 40 kilometers from the abduction site.
Additional Commissioner of Police, Manoj Patil, confirmed that Wagh had suffered multiple injuries and that police teams had been dispatched to arrest the suspects. “Several teams are working to apprehend the accused, and a team is on-site to conduct the panchnama,” Patil said.
Initially, there were no ransom calls or leads regarding the suspects, and Tilekar’s family had not expressed suspicion toward anyone. Wagh, who had a background in farming and owned a hotel near Shewalwadi, was known in the local community, according to police sources. Investigations are ongoing.
