Holy Quran desecrated in Jharkhand
Ranchi: The Hindutva members desecrated and burned the pages of Holy Quran in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred when the Hindutva members who mostly belonged to RSS, BJP, VHP and Banjrag Dal burned the pages of the Holy Quran in a field near Fatehpur Bazar mosque in Jamtara district.
The atrocious action aimed at inciting the religious tensions has been reported before the upcoming state elections.
As news of the incident quickly spread, Muslims strongly condemned the heinous act.
As per the media reports, locals found burnt pages of the Holy Quran a short distance from the mosque, prompting a significant number of people to gather at the scene.
Maulana Zulfikar Nizami of the Fatehpur Bazaar Mosque expressing his concern said this incident appears to be a deliberate attempt by anti-social elements to disturb the prevailing social harmony and brotherhood in the area.
