BSF shoots dead another Bangladeshi in Chapainawabganj border area
Dhaka: Another Bangladeshi national, Saiful Islam, 30, was fatally shot, and Raju Islam, 25, was injured in the Chapainawabganj border area by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).
According to Kashmir Media Service, this incident marks the fifth death in BSF shootings in the past sixteen days.
Saiful Islam, a resident of Nagarpara village under Radhanagar union in Gomastapur, along with others, had gone to fetch cows from the border area on Monday night. Unfortunately, only his bullet-hit body returned to Bangladesh early Wednesday, as confirmed by his brother, Robiul Islam.
Raju Islam, the injured youth, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, according to Matiur Rahman, chairman of Radhanagar union parishad.
Brigadier General FM Shamim Ahammad, director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, stated that Raju Islam was admitted to the hospital with bullet injuries sustained in the BSF firing in Chapainawabganj border area.
This incident follows the killing of Murali Chandra, 42, on Saturday, and two Bangladeshi youths, Liton Mia, 20, and Al-Amin, 32, on March 26, along the border in Lalmonirhat, Naogaon, and Lalmonirhat respectively. Additionally, on March 17, a Bangladeshi teenage boy was killed, and another was injured at the bordering Moulvibazar village by the BSF.
