Muslim prisoner named in Mumbai blasts killed by fanatic Hindus in jail

Mumbai: A Muslim prisoner named in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case was killed by five inmates in Kolhapur’s Kalamba Central Jail in Maharashtra, according to police.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, 59-year-old Mohammad Ali Khan, also known as Munna, was attacked in the jail’s bathroom area.

An argument preceded the attack, during which some under-trial inmates removed the iron cover from the drainage and smashed Khan’s head, causing him to collapse. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead, a police official said.

The attackers have been identified as Prateek alias Pilya Suresh Patil, Deepak Netaji Khot, Sandeep Shankar Chavan, Rituraj Vinayak Inamdar, and Saurabh Vikas.

Khan was serving a life sentence for his alleged involvement in the 1993 Mumbai attacks.
