Posters appear in IIOJK, urge observance of India’s Republic Day as ‘Black Day’

Srinagar: Posters have again appeared across Srinagar and other parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling on people to observe India’s Republic Day on January 26 as Black Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters, displayed by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Students and Youth Forum, Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Freedom Lovers, and other pro-freedom organizations, were spotted on walls, pillars, and electricity poles throughout the territory.

The messages on the posters strongly criticized India’s claims of democracy, pointing out that if India truly adhered to democratic principles, it would have granted Kashmiris their right to self-determination. The posters further condemned the ongoing killings, arrests of innocent civilians, and demographic changes being imposed in IIOJK.

The posters called on Kashmiris to observe January 26, India’s Republic Day, as a “Black Day” to deliver a resolute message to India that their struggle for freedom from its illegal occupation will persist until their goal is achieved.

Additionally, the posters have been widely shared on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and others, amplifying the call for resistance.

The call to mark January 26 as Black Day underscores the growing resentment in IIOJK against India’s actions and highlights the ongoing struggle for justice and freedom.
