Poor man’s struggle as top 1% control 40% of India’s overall wealth
New Delhi: India’s so-called economic growth is a billionaire’s playground where the top 1% control 40% of the nation’s wealth, while 60% of the population struggles to make both ends meet, economic experts said.
According to Kashmir Media Service, experts cite Modi’s undue favoritism towards Adani and Ambani groups, arguing that government policies cater to the rich while leaving millions in distress. Tax breaks for billionaires, skyrocketing inflation, and collapsing public services have crushed the poor into oblivion.
“The rich build skyscrapers while the poor can’t even afford a roof. Economic progress is meaningless when inequality continues to widen, destroying the hopes and futures of millions,” the experts noted.
India’s wealth gap remains an unspoken crisis—while industrialists hoard fortunes, the working class drowns in debt, unemployment, and a system rigged in favor of the elite. Meanwhile, India boasts of financial aid to other countries while 83 million of its own people survive on less than $2.15 a day, and 1.8 million remain homeless.
With $74.3 billion allocated to defense but only 5.5% of GDP spent on infrastructure and welfare, India prioritizes missiles over meals and militarization over development.
The grim reality is further exposed as Indian workers rush to war zones in Israel and Russia in search of employment, revealing a harsh truth—war-torn lands feel safer than starvation at home.
Experts conclude that India’s growth story is a facade, where prosperity is reserved for the few while millions remain trapped in perpetual poverty.
