Father, three children die in suspected food poisoning case in Rajouri
Jammu: Four members of a family, including father and his three children, died in a suspected case of food poisoning that has been reported from a remote village of Rajouri district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, father died at Government Medical College (GMC) in Rajouri, while three children died at Shalamar Child Hospital in Jammu.
As per officials, six members of a family, hailing from Badhal village of Rajouri’s Kotranka sub-division, fell ill suspected as a case of food poisoning.
“They were shifted to a local civil hospital and then referred to GMC Associated Hospital, Rajouri, where Fazal Hussain (40), resident of Badhal died.” officials said.
They said that mother among five children were shifted from GMC Associated Hospital to Jammu where three children died at Shalamar Child Hospital. They include Rabia Kousar (15), Raftar Ahmed (4), and Farmana Kouser (10).
Their mother Shamim Akhter (38) and another child Rukhsar Ahmed (12) are under treatment in a hospital.
Police on the other hand said to have taken up necessary legal proceedings and investigation into the matter.
