Tributes paid to Behanji’s father on his 32nd martyrdom anniversary in IIOJK
Srinagar: The leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement, a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, have paid tributes to Muhammad Yusuf Baig, father of Hurriyat leader Farida Behanji, on his 32nd martyrdom anniversary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Yusuf Baig was martyred by the Indian Army during a raid on his house in Srinagar on November 23, 1992. The soldiers arrested two freedom-loving youths, Javed Ahmed Shala and Muhammad Sadiq Sufi from his house.
Farida Behanji in a statement in Srinagar, paying tribute to her father Muhammad Yusuf Baig, said Kashmiris are creating a new history of freedom struggle with their blood and some are sacrificing their lives for the movement.
She said the great sacrifices of the martyrs will not go waste and would definitely bring positive results, adding the freedom movement would be accomplished at all costs.
Chief organizer of the Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Abdul Rasheed Lone, in a statement in Srinagar, paying tributes to Muhammad Yusuf Baig, reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the freedom movement till taking it to its logical conclusion.
He further said that the great sacrifices of the martyrs would soon bring fruit and the day was not far away when the people of Kashmir would get rid of Indian repression.
Party leaders Prince Salim, Mirajuddin Zargar, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Wahiduzzaman, Farooq Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Sheikh Hilal, Muhammad Latif Butt, Syed Tanveer, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Riyaz Ahmad Sheikh, Naseer Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Bilal Butt and others also paid glowing tribute to Muhammad Yusuf Baig on his martyrdom anniversary and said that despite all the cruelty of India, morale of the Kashmiris was very high and they were determined to continue their struggle till completion.
