Prayer session in Islamabad to honour Waiz Yousuf Shah, Advocate Andrabi
Islamabad: The APHC-AJK organized a prayer session in Islamabad to commemorate the anniversaries of former Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Mir Waiz Maulana Mohammad Yousuf Shah and human rights defender Advocate Jalil Andrabi.
The event, presided over by Convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, honored Mir Waiz Mohammad Yousuf Shah for his monumental achievement of translating the Quran into Kashmiri. They also paid tribute to Advocate Jalil Andrabi, highlighting his sacrifices and the ongoing struggle for justice for his family, even after 28 years since his arrest and subsequent death.
The prayer session also remembered other martyrs of Kashmir, including Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Dr. Abdul Ahad Gooru, and Bashir Siddiqui, among others. The event was attended by Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Syed Yusuf Nasim, Professor Mohammad Ashraf Saraf, Altaf Hussain Wani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Mohammad Rafiq Dar, Sanaullah Dar, Imtiaz Wani, Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob, Nasar Mirza, Advocate Parvez Ahmed, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Mansoor Ahmed Dar, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Gulshan Ahmed, Miyan Mazhar, Zahid Ashraf, Nazir Ahmed Karnai, Mohammad Shafi Dar, Qazi Imran, Imtiaz Butt, Ataullah and others.
The gathering reiterated the Kashmiri people’s commitment to honoring the memory of their martyrs and continuing the struggle for justice and freedom in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
